20/30s

Your Spirit, O Creator God,

your brooding, bright, imagining Spirit,

has brought us - 

and all that was, and is, and ever shall be - 

has brought us into being.

Your Spirit, O Creator God,

your brooding, bright imagining Spirit,

has called us beyond being,

has huffed and puffed, tugged and shoved,

has kneaded and molded us beyond being into life.

Your Spirit, O Creator God,

your brooding, bright imagining Spirit,

is inviting us, cajoling us, entrancing, inducing,

yes, even seducing us, beyond life into creation,

into imagination, into all the shapes and hues,

the textures, postures, melodies of grace.

So let that flaming, flagrant Spirit

be afire now among us here.

Restore us to our poetic vision,

that we may see this world anew

as your mighty work-in-progress,

that we may see ourselves as others see us,

that we may see you, the unseen God,

as the source and goal and heart of all delight.

Through these moments of welcoming,

of sustenance, of encouragement, mirth, and wisdom,

move up, across, among us once again

with your Spirit of inspiration and of ecstasy.

We ask this in the name of the living Word,

that Word we seek and find and lose,

and then are found by.

Let us say ... AMEN.

This group called the "20/30s" is:

• a group of friends
• a supportive community of Christians
• a place to find laughter, Spirit, fun, friends, and life!
• young adults seeking to find their way in the world, hunger for knowledge, and find a common voice of hope for the future
• a place of connection during the busy career and family building years of life

The team of people who dream up and enact the visions of the 20/30s are the Steering Team.  The Steering Team is made up of people from the 20/30s group - get involved and join the team today! 

Many of the staff, both paid and volunteer, are younger adults at FUMC.  Rev.
