W.O.W.'s (What's on Wednesdays)

“What’s on Wednesdays?”  (WOW) Lent, February 24-March 24, 2010

Child care may be requested when you sign up. The FUMC bus will be available for those who request transportation in advance (call 242-5850, ext. # 2).

WHAT:  Hallelujah: The Bible & Handel’s Messiah – Lenten portion: Experience the sacred beauty of the Messiah and learn about its biblical inspiration!  If you are interested in learning more about the Bible and you have wanted to appreciate Handel’s Messiah more deeply, this is the perfect opportunity to do both.  Your faith will be enriched by a deeper appreciation of both the words and the music to this profoundly spiritual oratorio.  Hear the music and study the text of the Lenten portion. A participant’s book may be purchased in the library for $15 – you can join the class without having participated during Advent.



WHEN: 5:30-6:00pm  Supper - $5 per person/$10 per family

           6:00-7:30pm  Hallelujah study - Facilitated by Rev. Annie with co-leaders Carolyn Lenderman & Nancy Tredway

 

HOW:    Sign up continues in the library.  Signing up will help us prepare for dinner and kids’ activities and nursery care.  Please make child care requests when you sign up.

 

Six sessions of material will be covered in five weeks.  The first class meeting covered session 5, “Behold the Lamb of God.” Please read the following sessions in the participant book before that week’s class (the questions and suggestions at the end of each session are just food for thought):
